We are currently working to complete a full period restoration of an original Triumph TR5. Our client has instructed us to complete all works to Concours standard and to be fully accurate to the original commission number as his intention to then display the car to various classic car shows and Triumph events.
The car had been dry stored for the last 25 years and a full restoration had already been started at some point before our client obtained the car. However, with so much time having passed since then, it was decided to strip down all components and start the restoration from a bare chassis upwards. This is proving to be a very challenging project as the car arrived to us as a rolling chassis, separate body and a lot of boxes containing a mixture of parts. With help of the TR Register, we have been able to find the original commission number and some of the vehicles history. However, the challenge continues to find the many missing components and ensure that all work is completed true to the original commission number and vehicle identity.
